The holidays are right around the corner, and this year I wanted to share a gift guided for all of my earth lovers who wish to pursue this holiday season with sustainable and ethical business in mind. Enjoy, and please feel free to leave your comments and suggestions below for businesses that you absolutely adore. I love learning from you.
Gift An Experience
The most eco-friendly (and arguably most memorable) gift you can give someone is an experience. I will never forget the countless times my mother reminded me as I grew up to gift less “stuff” and more memories. Whether it’s a low-budget experience like a card with an invite to a picnic at a local park or beach or larger-budget gift such as a trip out of town, experiences as gifts are something you can cherish in your mind and heart for a lifetime.
Can we normalize this, please? I love the idea of gifting an item you already own to someone who you feel will use it or enjoy it more than you do! I can’t even count the amount of times I have regifted a pair of earrings or an item in my home to a friend or family member. Seeing them light up with how much they love the item brings me so much joy! The best part about giving a regifted or secondhand item as a gift is that it is budget friendly and saves the environment as it doesn’t put a demand on the planet for new items to be made. Have you practiced regifting in the past? Or perhaps you will try it out this year? Either way… Let me know in the comments what item you regifted 😄 Together we can normalize and celebrate this practice as a sustainable (and fun!) way of giving gifts to people whom we love.
Have you ever considered going to a vintage or thrift store for your holiday gifts this season? I have found incredible items at my local secondhand stores… From antique lamps, to vintage jewelry, to secondhand kitchen ware, and more! Consider gifting secondhand this season to give your giftee a sustainably curated one-of-a-kind item.
What’s the next best thing to gifting an experience or an item secondhand/regifted? Gifting an item bought locally, of course! There are few things in life that bring a bigger smile to my face than visiting local shops and meeting the local shop owners. When you shop local you are supporting local economy AND your community members in their creative endeavors.
A few of my favorite local businesses to support include:
- LEAF – Live Enlightened And Free
- Artifact Books
Lastly, A List of Some of My Favorites Businesses on Earth… ❤️
Alter Eco Chocolates
Fair trade organic chocolate goodness… On top of that, they are killing it with their sustainable packaging. My favorite item of theirs is the dark chocolate truffles with compostable wrappers that I can just stuck into my compost pile upon finishing my tasty treat. YUM! Decadent handmade organic truffles that will leave your mind, heart and soul singing. I had the pleasure I trying them this year and oh my GOODNESS… can you say holy cacao? So. Delicious. Highly recommend! Shop here & use code “CacaoLove10” for 10% off.
This company gives protein powder a whole new meaning. By far my favorite protein powder out there. It is designed to nourish and elevate you, featuring unique ingredients like chia protein and reishi mushroom. On top of that, they uphold high standards for a clean, whole plant-based food source. It checks off all my boxes honestly… 100% organic, vegan, packed full of ingredients that pose no threat to our beautiful planet and all of its inhabitants, and the packaging is zero waste as they have a take-back-the-bag program where they will upcycle them. Little tip for ya… save 10 empty bags and send them back all at once for a free bag! Shop here and use code “EcoGoddess” for 20% off.

Consciously crafted zero waste candles… Hand poured, scented with essential oils and toxic-free fragrances that will bring warmth and brightness to any room. PLUS, the founder Danielle is an angel and collaborates with artists to design the art on each bottle. So special. This candle you see above might be my favorite.
